Township to help Wounded Warriors

Drop off items this Friday at Chapel Hill

An M.S.D. of Wayne Township employee and her family will be joining a Hoosier Wounded Warrior’s family on a visit to Walter Reed to deliver household supplies, comfort items, and snacks to our most severely Wounded Warriors.

Items needed

Household Items
Food-grade plastic storage containers Ziploc Bags – sandwich, quart, gallon sizes Paper towels, toilet paper, napkins
Disinfecting wipes, Clorox wipes Febreze spray and air fresheners Dryer sheets and laundry detergent
Kitchen sponges, dish soap, dishwasher detergent Rubbermaid 18 gallon totes or Sterilite 50 quart totes, with lids Swiffer Sweeper/Mops and Swiffer Pads
Food Items and Snacks
Cookies – Oreos, Chips Ahoy, Fig Newtons, Nutter Butter, Teddy Grahams, Fudge Stripes, etc. Boxed dinners, Hamburger Helper, Mac ‘n Cheese, Progresso or Campbell’s soups, beef stew Pringles, Fritos, Chex Mix, pretzels, chips, Cheetos, Fritos, Goldfish crackers, etc.
M&Ms, Skittles, Snickers, Milky Way, Hershey’s, Payday, Mounds, Almond Joy, etc. Nuts, granola bars, Pop Tarts, microwave popcorn, trail mix, beef jerky, Little Debbie snacks, Hostess snacks, etc. Tins or pouches of tuna, salmon, chicken, etc.

Special Need – Mac Sports Folding Utility Wagons

These wagons are used by the Wounded Warriors and their caregivers in transporting prosthetics, medical equipment, and other items around the Walter Reed campus.

They are available at Sam’s Club for $60. Please consider making a cash donation to help purchase wagons.
