Boys track finish seventh in state, now on to nationals

The Ben Davis boys track team finished seventh in the state meet this past Saturday with senior Moussa Conde reaching the finals podium four times.

The Gianst scored 23.75 points in a meet that was won by Gary West with 41 points. Carmel was second with 39 points.

Conde had an exceptional day, finishing as state runner-up in the pole vault and also scoring points with a sixth place finish in the 110 high hurdles, eighth in the 300 hurldes and second in the 4 by 400 relay along with teammates Jordan Wilkerson, Derrick Jones and Aaron Murray.

Coach Mike Davidson now takes a crew of three individuals and five relays to  the New Balance Scholastic Nationals in Greensboro, NC June 13-15.

Joining him will be Conde in the pole vault, Christian Powell in the long jump, DeAndre Bluitt in the high jump, the 4×800 relay of Tony Futrell, Tim Anderson, David Behrmann and Hubaid Ali, 4×400 relay of Derrick Jones, Moussa Conde, Aaron Murray, Jordan Wilkerson, the 4×200 relay of Derrick Jones, Jordan Wilkerson, Aaron Murray, Moussa Sylla, the sprint medley relay of Tony Allen, Ray White, Derrick Jones and Aaron Murray and the 4×100 relay of Derrick Jones, Chris Parish, Chris Evans, and Ray White
